Maharashtra Board Cancels 10-Minute Reading Time

Making Exams Fair: Maharashtra State Board Cancels 10-Minute Reading Time for Class 10th and 12th Students

Board exams can be a stressful and overwhelming experience for students, but it is essential for the exams to be conducted in a fair and transparent manner. To ensure this, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has taken a crucial step in cancelling the 10-minute reading time before the exam, which was previously given to students appearing for class 10th and 12th exams.

The board had noticed that the content of the question papers was found in the mobile phones of some students who reached the examination center after the scheduled time. To prevent such incidents, the board has decided to cancel the 10-minute reading time and distribute the question papers only at the scheduled time of the examination. This move is expected to help in conducting the exams smoothly and create a copy-free environment.

Examinees have been advised to reach the examination center at least half an hour before the scheduled time of the examination. The board has also instructed students to attend the examination center at 10:30 AM for the morning session and 2:30 PM for the afternoon session. After the end of the examination period, instructions to submit the answer sheets will be given to all hall invigilators through the concerned conservator and center director in the same order as the question papers will be distributed to the examinees in the examination hall.

Anuradha Oak, Secretary of the State Board, has stated that the instructions have been clearly mentioned in the admit card given to the examinees. By taking these measures, the board aims to provide a level playing field for all students and ensure that the exams are conducted in a fair and transparent manner.

In conclusion, this move by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education is commendable, and students are advised to follow the instructions provided by the board. By reaching the examination center on time and following the rules, students can ensure that they are well-prepared and ready to perform their best on the day of the exam.
